Due to fierce competition in the recent decades, focus on customer service is becoming increasingly important in all industries including grocery retail. The purpose of this study is to discover the different services offered by grocery stores in Egypt and Germany, to examine the reasons behind offering different services in the different countries and to learn the effect of the same services being offered in different countries.
The data was collected by conducting an online survey and then analyzed with reference to available literature. Findings and conclusions are presented in the form of lessons learned and suggestions for grocery stores in both countries to improve their consumer’s future shopping experience.
The objective of this paper is to examine the return and risk performance of 155 equity mutual funds that provide exposure to the BRIC-Countries and eleven corresponding exchange-tradedfunds from January 2009 until December 2014. The performance proxies are mean returns and risk-adjusted returns using Sharpe Ratio and Jensen’s Alpha. In addition to that, Tracking Errors for the exchange-traded-funds have been calculated. Further benchmarks for comparison are the following indices of Morgan Stanley Inc.: MSCI World, MSCI Emerging Markets, MSCI BRIC and the corresponding MSCI Country Index. The results show that all funds, equity mutual funds and exchange-traded-funds, could realize positive mean returns, whereas the returns of the exchange-traded-funds are lower than those of the equity mutual funds. Nevertheless, none of the funds could realize a Sharpe Ratio higher than one, which would implicate that the return has compensated for the risk. The results of Jensen’s Alpha suggests that 80% of the equity mutual funds were able to add value, as indicated by their positive alpha. Only two out of eleven exchange-traded-funds could generate a positive alpha. This result is controversial to the results of other studies, where only some or none of the examined funds have been able to add value.
Der Tätigkeitsbereich des Mittelstandsunternehmens Armaturenfabrik Franz Schneider GmbH & Co. KG (AS-Schneider) liegt in der Herstellung von Industriearmaturen, sowie der Arbeit im Bereich von Mess- und Regeltechnik. Das Unternehmen gehört hier zu den führenden Unternehmen weltweit. Zudem ist das Unternehmen im Bereich Ventile für Großdieselmotoren (Schiffsantriebe, Stromerzeugung) Weltmarktführer. Dieses Unternehmen hat in den letzten Jahren den Sprung ins internationale Geschäft gewagt und sich etabliert. Mit der Eröffnung von insgesamt vier Vertriebs Auslandsgesellschaften und der Planung weiterer Eröffnungen möchte das Unternehmen die Internationalisierung vorantreiben. Um ein zwischenzeitliches Fazit im Bereich der Personalarbeit dieser Vertriebs Auslandsgesellschaften zu bekommen, sollten Informationen gewonnen werden, um eine Handlungsempfehlung geben zu können.
Personalarbeit in der Industrie 4.0: Einführung einer digitalen Personalakte in der Zimmer Group

Die vorliegende Thesis thematisiert die aufkommenden Herausforderungen, welche sich für die Personalarbeit im Zuge der Einführung von Industrie 4.0 ergeben werden. Neue Technologien werden definiert und in Gartner’s Hype Cycle eingeordnet, um sie auf ihre Realisierbarkeit in der Praxis hin zu untersuchen. Zudem werden Grenzen der Einsatzmöglichkeiten dieser Technologien ausgewertet. Anschließend erläutert der Praxisteil die aktuelle Situation hinsichtlich des Standes der Industrie 4.0 und der Digitalisierung in der Personalabteilung der Zimmer Group. Des Weiteren werden die Projektphasen, welche sich auf die Einführung einer digitalen Personalakte beziehen, aufgeführt sowie analysiert, ob die Einführung einer digitalen Personalakte eine sinnvolle Investition für die Zimmer Group darstellt. In welcher Weise neue Technologien zukünftig in der Personalabteilung gewinnbringend eingesetzt werden können, wird abschießend dargestellt.
Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG ist ein Unternehmen mit mittelständischen Wurzeln, welches trotz seines rasanten Wachstums seine mittelständischen Strukturen und Charakteristika beibehalten hat. Viele solcher Unternehmen sehen sich aufgrund ihrer mittelständischen Besonderheiten gegenüber Großunternehmen anderen Herausforderungen konfrontiert – so auch in der Thematik Personalcontrolling. Diese Besonderheiten finden in der Literatur allerdings nur in den seltensten Fällen Beachtung. Es ergeben sich zwangsläufig andere Anforderungen an Personalcontrolling unter diesen Bedingungen. Diese Arbeit geht der Fragestellung nach, wie Personalcontrolling unter mittelständischen Bedingungen und somit unter Berücksichtigung der speziellen Rahmenbedingungen und Charakteristika gestaltet werden kann. Auf Basis eines Überblicks relevanter Literatur sowie einer Analyse des Ist-Zustands des aktuellen HR Reports der Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG, soll diese Frage beantwortet werden.
Personalisierte Online-Werbung und Datenschutzbedenken: Perspektiven aus den USA und Deutschland

Today, personalized online advertising is part of user's everyday life. Based on data collected online, targeted advertisements are displayed. This approach often triggers concerns among users about the protection of their data, which has made data protection a globally important issue in recent years. This is also the case in Germany and the U.S. These two countries have two fundamentally different approaches to protecting their users' data, which is due to different perspectives on privacy and the culturally different handling of user data.
Based on cultural behaviors, there are many differences between users from the U.S. and Germany, but that they also have some similarities that affect user behavior and attitudes toward personalized online advertising. The concept of personalized customer communication is promising and can be beneficial for both users and advertisers. The cultural aspects help to assess a user's personal boundaries in order to decide on the degree of personalization of an advertisement so that no concerns are raised.
This thesis deals with the topic of "Personalization in online marketing" and focuses on the planning and conception of a project plan for a club membership to specifically increase customer relations in the online store. uhlsport GmbH serves as a case study to highlight the implementation of a personalized marketing strategy.
In view of the rapid development of the digital marketplace, personalization is becoming increasingly important as a means of customer retention and acquisition. The paper analyzes the basics of online marketing, the importance of personalization and its impact on building long-term customer relationships.
Within the scope of a literature research, the theoretical basics of personalization in online marketing are discussed and the success factors of club memberships are highlighted. An examination of uhlsport GmbH enables the analysis of the practical implementation as well as the derivation of insights for project planning.
The results show the importance of personalized approaches to strengthen customer relationships. The developed project plan for club membership provides uhlsport GmbH with a basis for implementing such a strategy. This thesis not only provides insights into practical implementation, but also recommendations for action for companies that want to optimize their customer loyalty in e-commerce.
Diese Bachelorarbeit untersucht den Zusammenhang zwischen der Persönlichkeitsdimension Agreeableness und dem Führungsverständnis einer bestimmten Führungsrolle – dem Coach. Bisherige Analysen fanden positive Korrelationen zwischen Agreeableness und Führungsformen, die dem Verständnis des Coaches ähneln. In einer Korrelationsanalyse konnte ein positiver Zusammenhang gefunden werden. Außerdem wurden Geschlechterunterschiede innerhalb der Dimension Agreeableness untersucht. Im Durchschnitt weisen Frauen höhere Ausprägungen in der Dimension auf als Männer. In einem Mittelwertvergleich konnte dies jedoch nicht bestätigt werden
The aim of this paper is to show different possible solutions by using a practical example, which lead to cost reduction in the logistics area. The thesis was examined whether a consolidation of external warehouses would lead to synergy effects which would result in cost reduction. For this purpose, target sizes were identified from the historical data of the company MS Powertrain Technologie GmbH and a growth forecast and a warehousing concept was developed on the basis of these target sizes.
The thesis was confirmed in the course of the work and different variants for cost reduction could be developed. After evaluating the possible solutions, a recommendation for action was drawn up for MS Powertrain Technolgie GmbH. This can be divided into operational interim solutions and a strategic concept.
Due to the global increase in temperature, China has been dealing with severely increasing ecological disasters. The Chinese government has therefore increased its environmental protection measures in the past 15 years. This thesis delivers descriptive results of these measures, taken from the last three five-year plans as issued by the Chinese government. This is being done by applying the expected results of these measures into a so-called integrated assessment model. Furthermore, this thesis elaborates how integrated assessment models can be used in order to assess policies, such as these employed by the government of the PRC in order to compute their overall socio-economic impact on factors like welfare-maximization and technological advancement. This is rounded out by exploring the possibility of creating a holistic assessment model that combines the potential of backstop- and abatement technologies with a global or regionally disaggregated assessment model.
