The aim of this paper is to show different possible solutions by using a practical example, which lead to cost reduction in the logistics area. The thesis was examined whether a consolidation of external warehouses would lead to synergy effects which would result in cost reduction. For this purpose, target sizes were identified from the historical data of the company MS Powertrain Technologie GmbH and a growth forecast and a warehousing concept was developed on the basis of these target sizes.
The thesis was confirmed in the course of the work and different variants for cost reduction could be developed. After evaluating the possible solutions, a recommendation for action was drawn up for MS Powertrain Technolgie GmbH. This can be divided into operational interim solutions and a strategic concept.
Parylene-C is used for various biomedical devices because of its high conformity and biocompatibility. However, delamination could occur because of low adhesion between Parylene-C and other materials. For this experiment 4-inch Si-wafers are used. Parylene is deposited by chemical vapour deposition (CVD). Silane A-174 as adhesion promoter is added between Parylene-Parylene layers. The samples are soaked at different duration 1 h, 24 h and 120 h in PBS solution at 37 °C. A peel test is further performed to investigate the adhesion properties of the samples.
In the present work, polyetheretherketone (PEEK) was pretreated with oxygen plasma to investigate the influence on the contact angle and surface energy. For this purpose, PEEK samples were fabricated over several manufacturing steps, which were used as substrates for later investigations. A series of measurements was performed at a power of 300 W for different treatment durations and the contact angle of H2O on the PEEK surface was determined. The results show that plasma pretreatment significantly affects the surface modification of PEEK disks. The best hydrophilic properties of the PEEK surfaces were measured at a treatment time of 540 s and a power of 300 W. A much longer treatment time caused the correlated values of contact angle and surface energy to increase and in this case an excessive treatment time did not contribute to a further increase in hydrophilicity.

Plötzliches Unvermögen ist strategisches Thema und Meilenstein auf der Euro-NCAP Roadmap für das Jahr 2025. Diese Arbeit widmet sich der Frage nach der Umsetzbarkeit und rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen kamerabasierter Innenraumüberwachung im Hinblick auf die Erkennung plötzlichen Unvermögens durch Myokardinfarkt. Nach einleitender Definition des Terminus „Plötzliches Unvermögen/Sudden Sickness“ erfolgt eine Übersicht der NCAP Anforderungen sowie ein Überblick über den aktuellen Forschungs- und Entwicklungsstand. Im Folgenden wird auf Anforderungen aus Verbraucher- und Datenschutzsicht eingegangen. Schwerpunkt dieses Papers bildet die Erstellung, Umsetzung und Bewertung von Use Cases zur Erkennung einer Sudden Sickness durch Myokardinfarkt. Abschließend werden offene Forschungsfragen erläutert. Ein experimentelles Beispielsystem wurde exemplarisch umgesetzt und evaluiert. Die wesentlichen Erkenntnisse dieses Prototypen waren, dass besonderer Fokus/Aufmerksamkeit gelegt werden muss auf die Leistungsfähigkeit der Zielhardware, insbesondere im Hinblick auf Echtzeitanforderungen.
Due to the global increase in temperature, China has been dealing with severely increasing ecological disasters. The Chinese government has therefore increased its environmental protection measures in the past 15 years. This thesis delivers descriptive results of these measures, taken from the last three five-year plans as issued by the Chinese government. This is being done by applying the expected results of these measures into a so-called integrated assessment model. Furthermore, this thesis elaborates how integrated assessment models can be used in order to assess policies, such as these employed by the government of the PRC in order to compute their overall socio-economic impact on factors like welfare-maximization and technological advancement. This is rounded out by exploring the possibility of creating a holistic assessment model that combines the potential of backstop- and abatement technologies with a global or regionally disaggregated assessment model.
With the growth of the Internet, several sectors of the economy are evolving. Retail companies are no exception. There are new challenges for brick-and-mortar retailers. Such as the increase of alternatives and the decreasing number of salespeople in retail.
The work examines the digitalization of the consultation at the point of sale, in order to give the program "POS Advisor", which functions as a digital advisor well-founded recommendations for action. It is concluded that retailers must use the advantages such as touch & feel to their advantage and use digital in-store technologies to optimize and extend the customer journey in order to be more successful. The design of the POS Advisor should consider the demands of consumers in each target group as well as those of the product. However, it can generally be said that live chat with an advisor should be considered, and the waiting time should be kept as short as possible. Likewise, additional features should be considered that can offer consumers further advantages, such as a payment option directly through their phone.
Post-exercise diaphragm shielding: A novel approach to exercise-induced diaphragmatic fatigue

Climate change is currently one of the biggest challenges both in terms of danger to natural habitats, wildlife, and humanity. To tackle climate change, we need to reduce our carbon emissions in a fast and decisive way. This thesis studies one of the potential solutions to do so: green hydrogen. More specifically, its potential development by 2030 in Spain using INKA 4.0 scenario planning software.
Green hydrogen shows to have a wide range of applications, from transport to heating and industry with great potential to decarbonize many sectors. It does come, however with a number of important hurdles mainly related to cost, scalability and technical difficulties that will need to be addressed for it to be successful. With this, 10 descriptors were created generating three scenarios to be studied. The most consistent of them, a successful development of green hydrogen in Spain by 2030 is characterized by having all of its descriptors in a favoring state while the other two have some or all in a hindering state, making its development not successful within the established timeframe. Concluding that due to the great challenge the development of green hydrogen is, its success needs to have all factors supporting it.
Potential Recruiting

Companies are currently facing challenges in recruiting suitable employees for their top positions. Since the labor market is highly competitive and filling top positions by purchasing is extremely expensive, it is necessary to train these executives oneself. This bachelor thesis addresses the question of whether it is possible to recruit employees based on their current potential with a view to the central requirements of future activities in management positions. Since this type of recruiting does not yet exist in a scientific context, the findings from scientific fields that deal with the potential of people are to be used in this thesis in order to be able to state whether potential recruiting is possible. From the disciplines of sports science, especially competitive sports, and pedagogy, the knowledge is gained that the essential factors for fulfilling the potential of an individual are his abilities, his motivation and his environment. Abilities, such as acting intelligently, lead to faster acquisition of new skills. Motivation forms the drive to fulfill potential, while environment is significant in terms of enhancing the individual. These findings are linked to the current state of business research, which only deals with the potential of existing employees and not with new candidates, about whom much less knowledge is available. After a differentiated investigation, the conclusion can be drawn that potential recruiting is possible. The identification of motivation and skills can be realized by understanding biographical data and conducting a structured recruitment interview. It is also crucial that the company creates an environment in which high-potential employees are encouraged.
Finally, an example case is used to illustrate how the company Co-Investor Partners can proceed to identify an employee by means of potential recruiting.
This paper examines the potential of short videos within the organic marketing of startups. Through a case study, this research looks at the company Choosy UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (henceforth “Choosy” or “Choosy UG”) on the platform TikTok. Firstly, the relevance of short videos in marketing is presented and the specific strengths and possible uses of TikTok are shown in comparison to other platforms. Afterwards, quantitative and qualitative analyses are used to examine what an effective TikTok presence looks like and how the use of short videos affects the organic reach and engagement rate of the Choosy account. In the context of this work, it is elaborated how a good short video content strategy is developed for the platform TikTok and what it looks like particularly for Choosy. The results show that short videos can be an effective tool in organic marketing for startups, especially on platforms like TikTok. However, it is important to develop the right content and consider the specific strengths and weaknesses of the platform in order to realize the full potential of short videos. This paper provides valuable insights for startups looking to use short videos in marketing and shows that using TikTok can prove useful, especially for companies that do not allocate a large budget for marketing activities.
Potentials of Semantic Image Segmentation Using Visual Attention Networks for People with Dementia

Due to the increasing number of dementia patients, it is time to include the care sector in digitization as well. Digital media, for example, can be used on tablets in memory care and have considerable potential for reminiscence therapy for people with dementia. The time consuming assembly of digital media content has to be automated for the caretakers.
This work analyzes the potentials of semantic image segmentation with Visual Attention Networks for reminiscence therapy sessions. These approaches enable the selection of digital images to satisfy the patients individual experience and biographically. A detailed comparison of various Visual Attention Networks evaluated by the BLEU score is shown. The most promising networks for semantic image segmentation are VGG16 and VGG19.
Das Personal wird als einer der wichtigsten Ressourcen betrachtet, über die Organisationen verfügen können. Bei der Erreichung von strategischen Zielen werden dabei insbesondere Führungskräften eine tragende Schlüsselrolle zugesprochen. In den meisten Fällen werden diese nicht rekrutiert, sondern langfristig intern entwickelt und ausgebildet. Hierfür bedarf es zunächst der erfolgreichen Identifikation von Führungspotential, um diese dann im nächsten Schritt zu validieren. Ein oft verwendetes Instrument hierfür bilden Assessment Center, in denen die zukünftigen Aufgaben von Führungskräften simuliert werden. Jedoch bleibt unklar, inwiefern eine realitätsnahe Simulation in der Praxis tatsächlich gelingt und welchen Einfluss das Vorwissen zu einzelnen Aufgabeninhalten auf die Leistung von Teilnehmenden ausübt. Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, diese Fragen am Beispiel der Daimler Truck AG zu beantworten.
Hierzu wurden drei Hypothesen aufgestellt und eine qualitative Studie durchgeführt, bei der insgesamt 15 Expert/innen befragt wurden. Diese zeigt, dass einzelne Übungen im Assessment Center kein realistisches Abbild der späteren Aufgaben einer Führungskraft darstellen. Darüber hinaus zeigen die Ergebnisse, dass Teilnehmende keinen Vorteil durch einen vorzeitigen Erhalt von Aufgabeninhalte einer spezifischen Übung erlangen. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse ermöglichen es Entscheidungsträger/innen, zukünftige Verbesserungen am Prozess zu implementieren und die Qualität vergangener Entscheidungen zu evaluieren. Weitere Forschung im Bereich der Potentialvalidierung könnte auf die allgemeinen Effekte einer Offenlegung von Aufgabeninhalten abzielen.
Potenzial eines Echtzeit-Patientenmonitoring-Systems zur Unterstützung einer bedarfsgerechten Pflege

In der vorliegenden Abschlussarbeit wird das Thema „Potenziale und Hemmnisse grenzüberschreitenden Recruitings: Wie kann die EMS Systemgastronomie KG durch diese Potenziale und Hemmnisse das Recruiting in Frankreich effizienter nutzen?“
Als Mitarbeiterin im Personalwesen zweier Unternehmen, die McDonald’s-Restaurants sowohl in Deutschland als auch in Frankreich betreiben, sah ich mich mit Problematiken konfrontiert, die offensichtlich auf den Unterschieden zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich beruhen, sowohl in kultureller als auch in rechtlichen Fragen.
Die EMS Systemgastronomie KG, für die ich während der Erstellung dieser Arbeit im französischen Recruiting tätig bin, hat keinerlei Erfahrungen mit der Personalarbeit in Frankreich und hier konnte ich mit meinen Kenntnissen aus den Praktika bereits einige Fragen klären.
Diese Arbeit soll nun die zukünftige Personalarbeit im grenzüberschreitenden Recruiting insofern vereinfachen, dass auch Mitarbeiter, die im französischen Ausland bislang keine Erfahrungen sammeln konnten, diese Arbeit problemlos und rasch erledigen können.
Als Quellen dienten mir neben der Fachliteratur und Informationen, die ich von den verschiedenen Arbeitskollegen aus Frankreich und Deutschland erhielt, auch meine eigenen Erfahrungen und Kenntnisse, die ich aus der Personalarbeit beider Firmen mitnehmen konnte.
Die zu beachtenden Problematiken liegen nicht nur in der unterschiedlichen Höhe des französischen und deutschen Mindestlohnes, sondern reichen über dies auch in kulturelle Themen und arbeitsrechtliche Punkte hinaus.
Mit dieser Arbeit können die wichtigsten Punkte schnell erfasst und für die Zukunft vermieden bzw. erörtert werden.
Cybersecurity threads are a huge problem for all sizes of businesses. The traditional way of protecting valuable resources in the IT-Industry is a perimeter based security strategy. To ensure proper access rights for resources, firewalls, and other network-based inspection tools were used. The current move to the cloud undermines classic security strategies by blurring borders. The Zero Trust approach does not rely on edges and borders to ensure network security. Instead, all connections have to be verified and authenticated individually. In this thesis, a zero trust security model in a heterogeneous open source environment was verified. The three main observations were:
A zero trust architecture is possible, but the implementation is difficult. Half of the issues discovered must be covered by organisational measures. The tools available to cover technical measures are not developed enough. This is expected to change in the near future, as varoius companies already identified this issue.
