This thesis aims to identify various individual definitions of the term agility in business literature and to analyse their core characteristics in order to develop a universally applicable agility model that helps to understand the focus of each agility definition. In the process, commonalities and differences between a large number of individual agility definitions are examined with the help of content analysis. The methodological procedure of the content analysis is based on word identification on the one hand and implication analysis on the other. With the help of the results of the content analysis, dimensions are developed which group commonalities of different definitions. By combining the dimensions and the results of the content analysis, a model is created that makes it possible to categorise all definitions of the term agility in the business literature and make them comparable with each other. The results of the individual definitions applied to the model show that there are different views and understandings of the term agility. For example, the term agility can symbolise extrinsic motivation or intrinsic motivation and a focus on threats or goals for the company. The agility understanding model manages to successfully map all the focuses of the authors of the agility definitions and shows that there is no universally valid definition of the term agility.
Search engines such as Google are an important information platform for international society. By actively applying Search Engine Optimization (SEO), website operators can influence their positioning in search engines and thus increase the visibility of their website. This thesis deals with search engine optimization in the context of digital marketing. The result of this work is the structural development of a search engine optimization strategy for international websites. This strategy is not limited to specific markets or industries, but its validity is tested by applying it to the practice-oriented case study of the Spanish website of sevDesk.
First of all, an overview of the search engine as a digital channel First of all, an overview is given and its functionality and significance for digital marketing is explained. The needs of search engine users are identified by analyzing the characteristics of search queries and search intentions and then classified according to the AIDA formula into different phases of the modelled purchasing process.
In addition to the analysis of the search engine users, a closer look is taken at the specific ranking algorithm of the search engine Google, a second important component of search engine optimization. Various studies are compared in order to work out influencing factors of the ranking algorithm. These are explained in more detail in the context of the disciplines of search engine optimization. The next step is a closer look at the international context and technical and cultural peculiarities of the optimization of international websites.
In the following, strategic process flows from the existing technical literature are considered and extended to the international market under appreciation and critical consideration of the literature search. The developed strategy will be implemented using the case study of a Spanish website. The data will be collected and first results will be presented and evaluated.
For a couple of years, the comparison of active and passive investing has been a big topic in the financial world. For this reason, an abundance of literature on this topic exists and multiple studies have been carried out. The COVID-19 crisis came fast and only little is known about the impact on ETFs and active funds. This scientific paper critically examines both investment strategies during the COVID-19 crisis. The goal is to identify important factors and indicators for investors and whether ETFs or active funds are crisis-proof. To answer these questions a qualitative analysis was conducted. A sample of five experts regarding ETFs and active funds were interviewed with the same questions. The combination of the literature and the qualitative analysis shows that there is no crisis-proof strategy. Nevertheless, a broad and global diversified portfolio and a balanced asset allocation are important factors to make a fund more resistant against a crisis. In addition, the Sharpe ratio was identified as an important indicator for investors. The purpose of this paper is to add value for private investors and enable them to make rational decisions when choosing a fund based on the given indicators.
The trend of digitalization has fundamentally changed numerous industries. The field of marketing in particular has changed significantly in recent years. Technological progress makes it possible to reach new customer groups individually with the targeted use of artificial intelligence. It is highly relevant for companies to know how modern marketing can be used profitably with the help of artificial intelligence and which hurdles and challenges need to be considered. The numerous applications of artificial intelligence in marketing include, for example, sales forecasts, personalization of websites or chatbots. This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of artificial intelligence in marketing and analyses the effects on customer loyalty. In order to explain the success of the use of artificial intelligence in marketing, three established theories are considered. The trust-commitment theory emphasizes the role of trust and commitment in the process of developing relationships between buyers and sellers. Several studies show that customers trust a company or a deployed artificial intelligence technology more when the services are personalized, convenient and of high quality. A high level of trust in turn has a positive impact on the overall service experience. The expectation-confirmation model consists of three determinants to explain users' intention to continue using the artificial intelligence enabled service: confirmation of expectations, perceived usefulness and satisfaction. When users' expectations are met or even exceeded, this has a positive impact on customer satisfaction, which in turn has a positive impact on the intention to reuse a technology. The technology acceptance model predicts an individual's attitude towards technology use, taking into account two main determinants: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Various studies show that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are necessary preconditions for user satisfaction and intention to reuse the artificial intelligence technology. These results are also in line with the findings from the expectation-confirmation model.
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the analyses of the evolution of the European tourists’ behaviors in sustainable travel and travel choices / preferences since the Covid 19 pandemic.
Empirical results have been obtained through a deeper analysis of several literature researches, studies and an own survey (questionnaire). The outcomes show first that the majority of the young generation tourists are now willing to travel more sustainably and have changed their behaviors, habits significantly and that since the Covid 19. The today situation with climate changes and the Covid 19 have clearly identified impacts on tourist and influenced directly their habits and motivation as their preferences and choice for travel types and destinations. In addition, young tourists are now more attracted and open for new types of tourism, which are linked to own sustainability actions giving them a good conscience. So, we observe a change between a passive and now more active attitude. But is this just a passing trend or a long term “sustainable” trend?
The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate how different types of reward motivate employees and to show that the degree of motivation of a reward differs from one organi-sational culture to the other and from one person to the other. Furthermore, it makes recommendations which reward components could be used, and which rewards should not be used in certain cultures. In the first part, several motivation theories like the content theories of motivation and the process theories are discussed. These explain the different approaches to determine what motivates people. The thesis then provides an overview of the various extrinsic and intrinsic rewards and illustrates how different reward components influence the motivation of employees. It is highlighted why it is necessary to focus on the total rewards package, rather than on single rewards. In addition, the thesis clarifies how to evaluate reward packages in order to ensure they are effective. The last part deals with culture and exemplifies how rewards need to be adapted to different cultures. Here, the thesis draws mainly on Hofstede’s cultural dimensions theory.
In conclusion, the thesis argues that it is crucial that a company uses an effective re-wards package which meets the needs of as many individuals within the company as possible. The thesis hopes to provide all people dealing with Human Resources useful insights into Total Rewards, and thus make a contribution to improving the way re-wards packages are set within organisations.
