Concept for a Potential Assessment of Smart Green Service Applications

  • There is great potential for companies and society to improve the sustainability of services. The objective of the following work is the development of a concept that enables an assessment of the potential for improving the sustainability of existing services. Assessing the potential for sustainable Smart Services, so-called Smart Green Services, empowers companies to individually improve or increase the sustainability by using digital applications. A literature review on relevant parameters is carried out to identify dimensions or parameters with an impact on increasing sustainability. This will help companies to compare and identify suitable digital applications. Thereby, the influence on the improvement of sustainability in the ecological dimension is investigated while considering economic impacts. Based on the recorded parameters and the systematisation of the results, a concept for a potential assessment can finally be developed. As a result, the concept enables an assessment of the potential of digital technologies for the improvement of the ecoefficiency of existing services. Thus, digital technologies can be identified, and existing services can be improved to Smart Green Services.
