Die Entstehung, Implementierung und Koordination zweier Internationalisierungsstrategien - Kritische Betrachtung und Vergleich von Entwicklungsabteilungen des Geschäftsbereichs „Automotive Electronics“ und des eigenständigen und neu integrierten Geschäftsbereichs „Automotive Steering“ der Robert Bosch GmbH

The Development, Implementation and Coordination of two Internationalization Strategies - A critical evaluation and comparison of engineering departments of the “Automotive Electronics” business unit and the independent, newly integrated “Automotive Steering” business unit as part of Robert Bosch GmbH

  • Massive investments in research and development as well as a merger of know-how by different market players with complementing competencies are needed to be able to withstand the disruptive change towards technology-driven trends in the automotive industry. In sight of this environment the former ZF Lenksysteme GmbH was acquired by Robert Bosch GmbH and is now known as Automotive Steering. Established market participants must restructure drastically to achieve the required cost reduction demanded by the market. Outsourcing of business processes into low cost locations is one common method to drive down costs and has now also reached the level of highly qualified work. This Thesis describes and compares the internationalization strategies of the cooperating engineering departments of the business units “Automotive Electronics” and “Automotive Steering”. Considering the recent acquisition in 2015 the integration and coordination of the internationalization strategies are still outstanding.
