  • Since the announcement of VW’s „Dieselgate“ Diesel cars are publicly strongly in criticism. The resulting uncertainty on the future development of the automotive market does not only concern automobile manufacturers but also suppliers such as Mesa Parts GmbH. This work deals with the question of which environmental factors are influencing the automotive market and its impact on the company. Furthermore the company’s assumption that the majority of their parts later will be installed in diesel engines of the VW group is to be confirmed or rebutted. With the PEST(LE)-analysis the factors were determined and analyzed with regard to their impact on the market and the company. The result shows that the environmental factors currently have a positive effect on the sales of diesel cars and thus on Mesa Parts. In addition, the company’s assumption could be rebutted, since the large part of the reference product group will ultimately be installed in engines of Renault, Fiat and the PSA-Group.
