Influences on the consumer behaviour are being explained as well as gender aspects. Emphasising the ascendancies of the information search before the actual purchase of a car. In the process an empirical study was conducted. Surveys were sent to a subject group consisting of students and alumni. Considering the use of personal and impersonal sources of information, along with subjective and objective knowledge. Moreover the importance of prior personal experiences were examined. The results indicate that significant differences between the usages of personal sources exist, whereas no relevant difference regarding impersonal sources were found. Female participants estimated their objective knowledge lower than male participants. Implications for the automobile industry as well as a future perspective are being discussed.}, language = {de} }
